Add FAQ Page Schema in WordPress with the Free Schema Templates Plugin

A helpful FAQ page answers real questions where visitors can read them. If you also want to describe that page with FAQPage structured data, Schema Templates can keep the questions and answers in a reusable WordPress schema workflow without editing theme files.

This guide uses the free Schema Templates plugin on WordPress.org. The free edition includes FAQ Page among its five schema types, unlimited reusable templates, manual post and page assignment, previews, and validation. Conditional Auto Rules, additional schema types, ACF and WooCommerce sources, and import/export belong to paid editions.

1. Publish useful questions and answers on the page

Create or update a WordPress page whose main purpose is to answer frequently asked questions. Put each question and its answer in the visible page content. Use your own accurate answers, and keep them current. The schema should describe what visitors can actually read.

2. Create a FAQ Page template

After activating the plugin, open Schema Templates → Templates, create a template, and choose FAQ Page. Give it a clear name such as Customer help FAQ. Map Page Name to the WordPress page title, or enter an appropriate custom value.

For Questions, use the builder’s repeatable question and answer fields. Add each visible pair in the same order as on the page. The Questions field supports custom values in the free edition; ACF is a premium field source. Save the template and review any validation feedback.

3. Assign it to the right page

Open the FAQ page in the WordPress editor and find the Schema Templates panel. Select Customer help FAQ and save the page. Repeat this manual assignment for another suitable page if needed. Review the questions before reusing a template: a shared set of answers should only be assigned where those answers are actually visible and accurate.

4. Check the output

Use the plugin preview to inspect the resolved FAQPage object, its mainEntity questions and accepted answers, validation messages, and final JSON-LD. Compare the text with the public page. Check that another plugin is not emitting a duplicate FAQPage object.

What should you expect in Google Search? FAQPage remains a Schema.org type, but Google retired the FAQ rich-result feature in May 2026 and removed its documentation in June 2026. This workflow creates descriptive structured data and a maintainable FAQ page; it does not make a Google FAQ rich result appear. Valid markup also does not guarantee rankings or another search presentation.

Ready to build one? Install Schema Templates free from WordPress.org and assign a FAQ Page template to a page with visible answers.
